Erik Westerström

A Swedish-American filmmaker with a love for horror and humor that drifts into satire (in the best way). With a style that leans into hypnotic realism and a pinch of irony, Erik thrives in elevated situations filled with quirky characters and playful dialogue. He has a sharp focus on casting and performances that feel alive, encourages improvisation on set and finds comedic timing that land without losing authenticity.

His commercial work has earned awards including Funniest Commercial at Roygalan (2022), the Publishing Prize (2025) for his Finax brand film and his recent short, Breathwork, was welcomed at the 2026 Gothenburg Film Festival. When he’s not directing you can find him surfing at Torö or deep in a horror film binge.
